boost confidence to make more money

Do you want to make more money with confidence? Maybe you’re at a job and know it’s time to ask for a raise. Perhaps you’re getting ready to leave a job and work on a business or creative project that you’re hoping will make more money. Maybe you’ve been asked to do some kind of service at an event and you’re ready to charge more money.

But despite the opportunities, you might hesitate.

Many of us are at a point where our skills, time, energy, and resources should earn us more money. Yet, we usually suffer from imposter syndrome or downplay our skills. In other words, we think small, have a scarcity mindset, or don’t see the value that we’re truly worth.

It’s time to make more money with confidence. No more questioning your worth, prices, or value. Take this as your sign to ask for the raise, start the business, sell the creative project, raise prices on services, and make the money you deserve.

This article will cover all the ways you can increase your confidence to make more money and feel dang good about it!

First, value yourself

Know your worth. Know that no matter what, you’re a child of God and nobody can take your worth away.

Also take into consideration your time, energy, and resources. Are you making enough money to honor all of that? If not, it’s time to raise the prices, ask for a raise, or move onto something else that values you.

But first, you have to value yourself.

Too many of us downplay our skills. We think, “Oh someone out there is doing it better.” Maybe someone out there is doing it better, but are you getting paid fairly for where you are now? With the skills, knowledge, experience, and qualifications that you have, are you getting paid what you deserve?

If you don’t know your worth, other people will take advantage of you. This leads to disappointment and burnout. Know that you are a child of God and have the capability to do anything.

Because with God, nothing is impossible.

As you recognize your eternal worth, you’ll learn that 1) you have a unique contribution to make and 2) you can do anything you set your mind to.

And that includes making more money.

Be honest and frank about your current situation

Some people have a huge ego and think they deserve more than what they’re working for. My guess is that you’re reading this because you’re not that person. You’re worried that if you ask for a higher price or bump up in the pay scale that, somehow, you didn’t earn it or that you won’t be able to live up to the expectations of that higher pay range.

However, if you know that you’re really not at the pay grade yet, be honest about it. You’ll feel better if you’re first honest with yourself, then take the steps to make that pay grade.

For example, if your product or service hasn’t yet reached the price of another service/product of quality, then don’t overcharge. Another example: if you don’t have the qualifications or experience yet for a pay raise, be honest about it.

In the long run, you’ll feel better about it all. And being honest will actually encourage you to take steps now.

Want to get the pay raise? Do the work, get the experience, and earn the qualifications for that raise. Want to charge more for your product or services? Learn how to up the quality. Find better manufacturers, etc.

When you are honest with yourself, you’ll push yourself forward faster.

Don’t listen to other people

Almost every article on this website has talked about the importance of not caring what people think. People will think all sorts of things about you, your prices, and how much you make.

Ignore it. Please.

You charge what you will, and it won’t please everyone.

You might also ruffle some feathers when you ask for a raise or present all the reasons you deserve one. But remember your worth. And remember that no matter what other people think, the most important opinions are 1) your opinion and 2) God’s opinion of you.

Don’t be ashamed of your offer

It’s easy to feel guilty about how much you charge.

“Nobody will buy my products if I charge this much,” or “My coworkers will treat me differently because I make more now.”

Again, don’t worry about what other people think of you. Most times people project their insecurities because they don’t have confidence to make more money themselves.

Know that you’re in the right place, especially as you value your time, energy, and resources. There’s no need to feel guilty, ashamed, or embarrassed by your prices.

Create healthy beliefs about money

Sometimes we feel like we don’t deserve more money because we have unhealthy self limiting beliefs about money.

Maybe, at some point in our lives, we felt that we couldn’t afford something. Or, possibly, an opportunity presented itself and we felt unworthy of receiving so much money because of a past experience.

Everyone has unhealthy beliefs about money at some point in their lives, so work to overcome them. The process of overcoming self limiting beliefs can be broken down into three parts, which I discuss in the article below.

Check out: How to overcome self limiting beliefs

In a nutshell, evaluate your thoughts, emotions, and beliefs about making more money. Do you feel excited, hopeful, and optimistic about making more money? Or do you feel like there’s not enough room, like there’s not enough money for everyone (aka a scarcity mindset)?

Some people might also be afraid of making more money. Others might feel that they’ll never make more than a certain amount in their lifetime. Evaluate and honestly listen to these emotions and beliefs. I encourage you to check out the article about self limiting beliefs (linked above). It will help you overcome false beliefs about making more money and encourage you to move forward.

In conclusion

If you’re at a point where your time, energy, and resources are not being honored in the amount of pay you’re receiving, it’s time to make more money.

I know it feels scary to ask for a raise or charge higher prices, but please value yourself and your worth. Not honoring yourself leads to burnout. You are worth so much, and you deserve to make more money with confidence. You got this friend!
