Are you looking for helpful books about self confidence? We’ve listed some of our favorite books about self confidence. Some of them have to deal with self confidence in general, and others are metaphorical books that illustrate self confidence in a beautiful way.
Without further adieu, let’s jump into it!
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey
You’ve probably heard of this book and have been referred it by many friends and family. This book is the ultimate self help book (besides scriptures and the word of God, of course). The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People covers everything you need to know to take responsibility for your life.
It discusses paradigm shifts, independence, interdependence, and other healthy habits for a happier, meaningful, and satisfying life.
Aloha State of Mind by Leialoha Humpherys
Of course we have to put a plug in for our very own author (who writes most of the articles on this blog)! Aloha State of Mind by Leialoha Humpherys covers 24 Hawaiian values to help you create paradise where you are. How is this linked to self confidence?
Many of the Hawaiians values help you take responsibility for who you are, acknowledge and realize your unique strengths and contribution, and help you find meaning and purpose in all you do.
Psycho Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz
A former plastic surgeon, Maltz shares unique experiences to help you recognize your potential and do your own “emotional surgery.” He talks about how only some of the surgeries “worked.” Oftentimes, people would return to him, unhappy, because their internal image of themselves hadn’t caught up with the external/physical image of themselves.
Maltz shares practical strategies and ways to help you change your thought patterns and perception of yourself. You don’t have to live with negative emotions and false beliefs caused by your experiences. You can be happy and have confidence in who you are now.
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
A metaphorical story about a young boy in search of a treasure, this book reminds us to keep an eye out for signs, omens, and not be afraid to pursue our dreams.
It is a simple story yet rich with meaning and themes of self confidence and inner belief. It inspires you to dig deep, persevere, and trust God and the process.
The Richest Man in Babylon
Another metaphorical story that inspires self confidence in multiple ways: financially, finding meaningful work, and what it means to be a person of integrity.
When first recommended this book, I hesitated. Why would I want to learn about Babylon? But it wasn’t what I expected, and the story is incredibly relevant to our own struggles in today’s time.
